About Us

The Jayiya Family Trust was established in August 2015. The trustees are: Ntombekhaya Tracy Jayiya, Siviwe Jayiya and Luyanda Peace Mathandabuzo.

This Trust is 100% Black owned with major interests in property development, rentals and entrepreneurial enterprises. We are located in Eureka in East London’s industrial area. 

The property division of the Group administers long-term leases for private and commercial properties and student accommodation. The Group owns an exclusive bed and breakfast in Nahoon and self-catering units in Southernwood, East London.

Our company’s primary interest is property acquisition, development and management. Increased civil engineering, urbanisation and the immense economic growth in the region has stimulated the need for additional accommodation. We have fostered partnerships with the government and local institutions through our construction and environment services and we are in a position to provide rentals to satisfy this growing demand. 

We have over 20 commercial offices in Butterworth with blue chip anchor tenants including Old Mutual, PSG, Momentum and IEC. Our tenancy also includes the Independent Electoral Commission, local attorneys and accounting firms. 

There is a shortage of over 200,000 student beds in South Africa, a figure that is expected to double by 2030 (Ref: Ministry of Higher Education and Training). Our student accommodation portfolio has taken on the challenge and opportunity to be a part of the solution by providing safe, accessible and affordable tertiary student accommodation. We currently serve the Eastern Cape Province with the aim of expanding to all provinces.

We have recognised potential customers in the Department of Education, Department of Health, students, the private sector and the increasing demand in the hospitality sector.

Meet Our Team

Director: Ntombekhaya Tracy Jayiya 

Ntombekhaya has established numerous 100% black female owned businesses and has made a recognised contribution towards youth and female empowerment. She developed JFT Jewels Guest House in Nahoon and JFT Jewels Self Catering in Southernwood.

Ntombekhaya is responsible for marketing, business management and human resources for the group.

Ntombekhaya’s career began in construction, and she has over 15 years’ experience in this industry. She was involved in the Masakhesonke Construction Incubator Program from 2013-2015.She is also a member of SAWIMA (Woman in Mining in the Eastern Cape.

She has worked for and managed numerous projects for various government departments including National Government. 

She holds a Diploma in Marketing from the Walter Sisulu University and Diploma in Project Management from Damelin.

Siviwe Jayiya – has over 22 years’ experience in the construction industry. He has a National Diploma in Building from the Nelson Mandela University and a Diploma in Advanced Management at Damelin. Siviwe was also involved in Masakhesonke Construction programme and was named one of the Best in 2013-2015. He was involved in the Building of many Schools around the Eastern Cape, Hospitals, Clinics and The ROYAL house in Mgqesha Great Place for the late KING SANDILE.

Luyanda Matandabuzo – is the Managing Director at Khwalo Business Accountants and Auditors for the East London, Lusikisiki and Mthatha offices. He has been a qualified auditor for over 13 years, and has a B-Tech internal Auditing, an Honours Diploma in Internal Auditing and NHC Accountancy. Mr Matandabuzo manages an accounting firm in East London where he has received several awards for excellence. He owns lucrative funeral parlours in the Eastern Cape and is chairperson for the South African Parlours Association.

Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives

Our corporate and social responsibility extends into our nearby rural community where we sponsor schools with soccer, cricket and netball equipment. We also have a ‘back-to-school’ initiative where we provide uniforms, bags and shoes. We contribute where required to local churches.

Going Green

We acknowledge the importance of reducing our carbon footprint and we are in the process of introducing energy saving devices. All our properties have JOJO tanks and a diesel generator to ensure there is no interruption with water or electricity. We recycle grey water for the gardens.
